ITEC LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA - ANATOMY &
PHYSIOLOGY
Units 1 (30 - 40) - International
- No formal entry
requirements
Anatomy
– Study of body structure and Physiology – Study of body function
The study of
the human body has fascinated mankind for centuries, from initial investigations
where it was thought that the arteries and veins run on air and that muscles
were coiled springs to today’s microscopic understanding of seemingly every
aspect of our bodies make up.
This
fascinating learning area is the basis for the study and gaining of sound
knowledge in Anatomy & Physiology. An essential requirement for any healthcare
professional, it forms the underpinning knowledge on which all complementary
therapies are based. You will learn about the physiological make up of body
systems and how these systems interact with each other helping to maintain
homeostasis –‘body balance’. This knowledge is key to becoming a
professional, successful practitioner in your chosen field.
On completion
of this course you will be able to understand and describe microscopic and gross
anatomy, name major structures throughout the body and explain their
interrelationships as well as basic functions:
